Artist Biography
Los Angeles jazz vocalist, writer and blogger, Claudia Alexander, continues to win praise from music fans and critics with her unique brand of lyricism and songwriting. Her latest single, “Q&A” explores the complexities of faith against a Chet Baker inspired canvas of straight-ahead, West coast jazz, featuring Los Angeles artists: Dominic Thiroux (bass), Amy Rowe (piano), Jun Iida (trumpet) and Kevin van den Elzen (drums).
As owner and founder of Culture Therapy with Claudia Alexander for Artists and Creatives, Alexander continues her research in the areas of jazz, faith, spirituality, wellness and artist empowerment via weekly IGTV episodes on the @ctcaforartists Instagram channel.
A Los Angeles Music Awards Nominee (Best Jazz Artist) and alumna of the USC Thornton Jazz Studies and USC Dornsife Master of Professional Writing programs, Alexander has performed internationally and at various Los Angeles Jazz festivals and venues, including: The World Stage, Monsoon Café, The City of Inglewood Market Street Festival of the Arts, The Hollywood Park Jazz Festival, and The InterContinental Hotel.
Her 2018 single, “Anything”, draws upon scriptural narrative, addressing the power of faith, and features Earl Johnson, Jr. (piano), Del Atkins (bass) and Gordon Peeke (drums).
